Reaching the end

Hi everyone!
We're almost at the end of our fabulous project!! this week we're sending the last parcel. All of them have been great, but this one will be very special as it is the last one. We have a special place in our school to show all the art works we receive from Brest and Prostejov, i'm sure it will be even better than the last year's!
In a couple of weeks some of the teachers will meet in Prostejov, we're very excited about it! we'll take a lot of pictures for all the students to see.
So be ready for the final countdown!

It's the last day to do it and we do it!!!!

Sorry sorry sorry , we're so late for everything!!! The french team has forgotten to write its newsletter for a very long time but don't worry we still alive!!!!
And we think of you everyday (true, true)!! We're preparing the second (and the third) parcel about our region and our town, all the pypical things that we have in Brittany (and we've got plenty of : dances, songs, food, language...). Of course the four lucky teachers who will discover Jana's country, speak all the time about the trip!! (the others are so jealous, it's so good!!). Two teachers will come by train (26 hours but so good for the Earth!!!) and the two others by plane (8 hours).
We're learning the both vocabulary send by you. We must admit that learning Checz is more delicate : we repeat, we repeat, we repeat,and forget, forget, forget and repeat, and repeat and forget ...
But we will ready, don't worry!!

Hi there our dearest friends!
How are you after the Xmas holidays? We're working hard again and wishing to know about both of your schools once more.
We've been practicing Checz and French and we must admit that we're having some problems with the Checz, specially in saying "thursday" hehe.
The Catalan teachers who will go to Prostejov in May are very excited about the trip and about seeing your school as we did in Brest.

Prostejov

Hello from Prostejov,

the weather here still looks like late summer but we could only wish it was.

We had Czech National Holiday last week which was really great to take a break so now we are full of energy and ready to start on our next parcel. We are expecting some new phrases, names of days, months and school subjects - this could be the most interesting topic for our children.
Children are looking forward to any other information about living in France and Spain.

We still have our exhibit too and we will send you some pictures.

It really doesn't look like it but Christmas is coming up very quickly. Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? We need ideas!

French Art Exhibition

Hi again!

Here we are again!
We start the second year of our Comenius project, with 3 different parcels and the school visit to Txec Republic in May.
This term, we will learn different expressions in French, Catalan and Txec. We are willing to practice them in your languages!
The second term we will send a parcel full of culture; traditional songs, costumes, food, dances, etc.
We still have the art exhibition shown in the school walls, and it will remain the whole year. By the way, we'd love to see your exhibitions, so it would be great if you could upload some pictures in the blog.
And for the next exhibition (in the third term) we will prepare another wall, this time to show the art of each region (Bretagne, Catalonia and Moravia)
So we'll keep in touch, and we'll be waiting for your news!

Spanish Art exhibition

The Spanish newsletter

Hello everybody from Sabadell. How are you?

What's the weather like in your countries? Is it cold? Here, in Sabadell, we had some "hot" days, last week. But it seems that, the next week, the weather will be cold again.

We apologize for writing this newsletter a little bit late, but we are very busy preparing our "Cultural Days" for the next week (to be precise, for the next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). We are preparing different activities related to the Spanish Art, since the time when the first humans lived in caves, like in Altamira (Cantabria - Spain), until the 20th century, when we can find some famous Spanish artists like Pablo Picasso and Eduardo Chillida. As you can imagine, it is impossible to see all the Spanish Art in only three days, but we only have the intention of giving our pupils a small overview of some artistic and cultural expressions of the Spanish Art. Some of the different works that they will make during the "Cultural Days", will be part of the 3rd. parcel (about Art) we have to send in May.

However, our Comenius Team are preparing the material for the 2nd. parcel. We are choosing the words for the vocabulary related to the new topics and the pictures for the flashcards. But we will finish this work after the "white week" (a holiday week) that we will have from the 5th until the 13th of March.

By the way, we have a new postman for the next delivery of the second parcels. Her name is Sarah and you can meet and listen to her on the right column of our Comenius Blog.

Hallo everybody, we've just celebrated Valentine' Day, so we wish you much love forever ! But in our country, this day is not so important for many people, because its tradition is not very long. Some older people still prefere The Women's Day, widely celebrated in communist times. And it's in March, when spring beginns.And because this year¨s winter has been quite unpleasant, we look forward to warmer and sunnier weather .Our Comenius team is starting to prepare materials for the next parcels these days. Colours, numbers, Easter - nice topics, aren't they? I'm sure our pupils will like them and so yours. So have a nice time, love Hana.

The first french letter in 2011

Bonjour, bonjour

It’s under the rain that the French team tell you : hello , how are you?

Since January, everything has been fine.

The weather is a bit wet but not cold at all. The pupils can play football on the playground.

The two Freds’ forms has started to go to the swimming pool twice a week (on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons). This “aqua” project will take over at Easter.
Usually, we used to go once a week during all the year but the swimming pool’s boss has decided to try something new. Less weeks (just a term) but as much lessons as last year. So we wear our swim suits and learn how to become a mermaid.

Since January, all the school has got the chance and the pleasure to have two new teachers for the term.
The first one is American and he teaches in nursery school English songs.
The second is French and she teaches music in each form. Nursery rhymes and rhythms’ discovery for the nursery school. In the primary school, she has discovered songs chosen by the teachers. All these songs have got the name of a French town in the title and they have to be sung for our marvelous Comenius partners!! She teaches them to our lovely pupils. Most of these songs are very famous, so at home parents and grandparents repeat them too.

The gardener came last Friday to give us advices about our small gardens. The French team will have to find time to work on , like planting, sowing, weeding (not to confuse with William’s wedding ahaha!!!).

We’ve forgotten to tell you how delicious was the food found in the parcels : biscuits, nougat, and so on. Thank you, thank you.

We’re working on the vocabulary parcel to be ready in time (the 25th March). We will be on holidays (again) in two weeks and for two weeks. We will back school the 14th March.

The letter from Brest

Hello everybody from Brest How are you? We know we are writing very late but our silly Fred had lost the dates!! We’re very sorry about it (he feels very guilty!!!).

We’ve been on holidays since last Saturday. During the last week, after days full of evaluations, we had the pleasure to receipt the parcels. So on Tuesday night, all the teachers were invited by Katell to discover your treasures in her home. We were like in family, waiting near the Christmas Tree, the eyes full of joy!!

Then, the discovery began.

Wonderfull!!
So many many things!!! The decorations are superb, and we were all surprised by the carps. What a marvelous biscuits’smell, arriving from Prostejov, invaded the living room. Tio and Tia were unknown for all of us. Sophie brought the parcels back school on Thursday to show them to the nursery pupils. On Friday, the two Freds carried them to the European corner and during the last afternoon, each form came to discover them (the parcels not the two Freds!).

What a success!!!

With the flashcards, they’re looking forward learning the pronunciation. They have been too very surprised by the carps cause in France we draw paper fish too, for the jokes'day, the first April, to be hung in your friends'back.
Tia and Tio are now as famous as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie but less appreciated than the Caganer…Oh my god what a laugh!!!

We’ve realized our sweet differences between our father Chrismas, and the couple Saint Nicolas/little Jesus and the other couple Tio/ the Three Kings.

Of course we had hung the decorations in our Christmas tree, but we were a bit disappointed to tidy them after the Christmas period. So we’ve decided to keep the tree (on the decorations on) in the European corner for the rest of the year.

We wish you a marvelous and happy Christmas, full of gifts cause we’re sure that you’ve been very kind during the year.

We wanted to share with you a picture of our Xmas tree with all your decorations and the nativity scene. They look really nice!

THE LETTER FROM PROSTĚJOV

Hello everybody from Prostějov,

how are you? We know we are writing a little bit late. We are sorry about it.

Last two weeks we were very busy because of the preparation of our Christmas parcels for you. It was nice and interesting work – making flashcards and decorations, singing Christmas songs, baking gingerbread….

The Christmas decorations made children from Jana´s (Pichlová) school. They are beautiful, you´ll see. Jana Prokopová with her colleges and pupils made sounds for our flashcards.

Pupils from my school (I´m Marcela) prepared Christmas flashcards and songs. It was very strange to sing Christmas songs in November but it brought to our school a peaceful Christmas mood.

Our pupils with their mothers also baked a sweet Christmas gingerbread. By the way that´s very nice decorated. And our theatre group played short scenes to explain three or four words from flashcards. It shows the typical Christmas atmosphere in the Czech Republic.

Our children were very pleased about the letters from Spain. They took their mail address and they are going to answer them soon. Thanks a lot.

Finally our European corners are finished, too. Their photos I will send you next time.

So, we are looking forward to everything new from you. We wish you have a nice time before Christmas.

Spain newsletter

Hi everyone!
How is it going? here, we are very very busy with the preparation of the first parcel to be sent. We've started filming the students saying the Xmas words, we've got the flashcard sets almost ready, all the classes (including infant education) are doing their decorations for our Xmas trees, and we are also thinking about all the things that we'll include in the box. So lots of work for our postman!!
Children are very excited about the idea of participating in everything we send and also about the things we'll receive. The arrival of the parcels will be a party!!
By the way, here we send you a picture of how our European Corner looks now. Paco did a great work with the flags and coats of arms, it's great. Moreover, next thursday we're attending a Comenius meeting in Barcelona where we'll receive a commemorative plaque saying: We're Comenius. This is an official procedure new this year for all the schools participating in a Comenius project. So we'll add it to the European Corner very soon.
